The right products

At X-Act Care we always keep the environment in mind. For that reason, we like to give you tips for cleaning with environmentally friendly products: Usually, you already have the perfect ingredients for deep cleaning at home. The important thing is to know the properties of each substance:

Lemon

It has a degreasing function and is essential for cleaning surfaces that are in direct contact with food. We can clean our ovens, microwaves, and countertops with a solution of warm water and lemon.

Remember that the more juice you add, the more abrasive the solution will be.

Vinegar

It has very similar characteristics to lemon, with the bonus of having properties suitable for polishing. If your kitchen is steel, vinegar can work wonders.

Detergents and stain removers

Many detergents are designed specifically for the kitchen. One advantage of cleaning products is their fragrance. They usually give you a pleasant aroma, which counteracts the unpleasant odors of the preparations.

Sponges, and microfibre cloths

Microfiber cloths are soft and perfect for not leaving marks. But our cleaning kit would not be complete without our sponges -ideal for cleaning dishes and plates- and an abrasive sponge.

But be careful with the abrasive sponge because they are double-edged tools. Use them to clean the oven or crockery with particular incrustations, but never use them to clean the countertops or the sink. The result would be an accumulation of unsightly scratches.

Cleaning tips for the kitchen

When it comes to kitchen cleaning, there’s always so much to do from top to bottom. Here you’ll find tips and tricks to efficiently and sufficiently clean the oven, appliances, cabinets, floors and countertops, kitchen hoods, and more.

Cleaning the refrigerator

Start by emptying the refrigerator and then remove the drawers and individual shelves. Clean these external parts with dish soap. Prepare a vinegar and water solution for the inside of the refrigerator (1 liter of water and two tablespoons of vinegar).

Vinegar is widely used as the main ingredient of cleaning tips for the kitchen because it has degreasing properties. It will help you remove layers of dirt left by food and rebalance odors. Once you have cleaned the refrigerator with a soft sponge, rinse with a cloth and replace the shelves.

Cleaning tips for the kitchen (the cooktop)

The cooktop and the hob cooking should be cleaned after every use. Allowing food debris to become encrusted is the worst mistake of all. The sooner you remedy it, the better it will be for your kitchen.

Use only microfiber cloths and non-abrasive sponges to clean the steel plate to avoid unsightly marks and scratches. This is one of the most important cleaning tips for the kitchen.

A natural method to clean the steel plate can be the use of baking soda. Sprinkle on the countertop (after removing the grates) and rub lightly. Leave it for a few minutes, and then rinse with a solution of warm water and white wine vinegar. Brilliance is assured.

Always use soft cloths to clean the induction cooktop. You can clean the surface simply with dishwashing detergent or prepare a solution with 200 ml of white wine vinegar, 100 ml of alcohol, and four tablespoons of dishwashing detergent. This solution will last you at least three weeks of cleaning

Cleaning the oven

For optimal cleaning, put a liter of water and the juice of three lemons in a saucepan. Cook at maximum temperature until all the water has evaporated. The degreasing action of the lemon will dissolve the grease embedded in the walls, and it will be easier to remove later.

When the oven has cooled, wipe the interior walls with a damp cloth, wiping several times until it is clean and free of grease.

Cleaning the microwave

Place a bowl with a small amount of water and half a cut lemon on the microwave dish. Cook on full power for about two to three minutes, remove the bowl and rinse the inside with a soft cloth soaked in warm water.

Leave the microwave open for a few minutes to allow any remaining water to evaporate completely.

Cleaning the extractor hood

The extractor hood should be cleaned at least once a month. If your hood has metal grill filters, you can remove them and wash them directly in the dishwasher or use a degreasing product.

The outside of the hood should also be cleaned, using special detergents suitable for each material. If the material is steel, we recommend polishers. But if it’s a ceramic layer, normal “anti-dust” cleaners will suffice.
